Thank you for this good sampling of Ron Rhode’s artistry. His timing and style are refeshing.
My pleasure, Robert! His playing will be sorely missed, as will his very different choice of music from the standard playlist.
I have always admired Ron’s choice of music. He has gone back to find the old timers that suit the theatre organ so well. He sure knows how to make the most of the unique sounds of the theatre organ. My favorites…”The Vinyl Years” and the Sigmund Romberg tribute album (can’t remember the name).
Joyce: that Romberg CD is “Deep In My Heart – Rhode Remembers Romberg” – and yes, Ron was great at unearthing forgotten gems. Made a change from “All The Things You Are” and so on, didn’t it? 🙂
